Inside Your Stable
A built stable is a solid building. Lay a second run of bricks and it becomes a room you can walk into.
Building the room
The shell is bricks again, and how many depends on the plot:
| Plot | Room shell |
|---|---|
| 6x6 | 60 bricks |
| 8x8 | 100 bricks |
| 10x10 | 150 bricks |
| 12x12 | 220 bricks |
You lay them from the yard, not from inside. Stand at your stable, press E to open the stash panel, take the stable tab, and the upgrades section has a room row with a bar on it. Press lay bricks and it takes every brick you are carrying, up to what the shell still owes. Come back with more whenever you have them.
Until the shell is finished there is nothing to enter, and the door says so. Once it is finished, a go inside button appears in the same panel's stable section.
The room
One room, four sizes, matching the plot underneath it.
| Plot | Room, in tiles | Furniture it holds |
|---|---|---|
| 6x6 | 11 x 9 | 8 pieces |
| 8x8 | 14 x 11 | 12 |
| 10x10 | 17 x 13 | 16 |
| 12x12 | 20 x 15 | 22 |
Walls are counted in those tiles, so the floor you can actually stand on is a little smaller. What goes on the floor is furniture, which you craft at the workshop and place by hand.
Visitors
Your room holds up to eight souls at once, and it is not a public space. Guests can only walk in while you are home. Leave and the door closes behind you: anyone else inside stays until they leave, but nobody new comes in.
It is the first private room in the world. Nothing hunts you there, nothing gathers there, and no bench stands in it. It is somewhere to be, not somewhere to work.
Taking it down
The room comes down with the building. Dismantle a stable and the shell refunds 65% of its bricks like every other escrowed piece, while every piece of furniture comes back whole. Furniture is items, and items move rather than vanish.
Rebuilding starts the room from zero.
