Rot and idle decay

Two separate rules, one for each class of material.

Basics rot

Raw horse shit, straw, water, sap, hide, scrap and bone lose about 1/30 of each stack a day in your bag (online or offline), stash, storage chest, tent, Exchange asks and guild stockpile. Fractions carry over between hours, so small stacks lose whole units now and then. Rotted units are destroyed. A small hourglass marks basics in your bag, and on your return the game tells you what rotted.

Rot counts from the relaunch; nothing rots during the September pause. Crafted goods, gear and rare materials never rot.

Rare materials return

Frozen sap, fishbone, iron fittings, keystones and goo do not rot. But after 4 days of account inactivity, rare raw material in your stable stash, storage chest or tent starts returning to the world on an increasing daily curve. Playing again ends the idle period; moving a hoard between containers does not help. A rare pool that read empty may therefore have another unit available later.

These rules are separate from stable upkeep, the inactivity auction on land and the care deadline of living aquarium fish.
