The Magic Tree
An animated tree stands in the town square of Glueburg, and nobody planted it. Walk close and it wakes: a countdown floats over the canopy, and pressing E unfolds its interface around the tree itself. It is the world's daily lottery. Feed it through the day, and at midnight it shakes and three names fall out.
What it eats
The tree takes any raw material with a vendor price, sap, hide, scrap, bone, fishbone, horse shit, straw and water, and exactly one crafted thing: the brick. Nothing else. Every unit you feed becomes tickets in the day's draw, priced at the material's vendor floor, so rarer things are worth more:
| You feed | Tickets each |
|---|---|
| Horse shit, straw | 1 |
| Sap, water | 2 |
| Scrap | 4 |
| Hide, fishbone | 5 |
| Bone | 10 |
| Brick | 32 |
A ticket price is just the material's vendor floor, so the world's own price list sets the odds. Tickets are not items: they cannot be traded, moved or kept, they exist only inside the current draw. And deposits are one way, no refunds. What the tree eats, it keeps.
The cap
You can hold at most 500 tickets per draw. Past that the tree will not take more from you until the draw settles, so no whale can crowd the odds.
The draw
At midnight UTC, every day, the tree draws three winners, weighted by tickets: more tickets means better odds, but any single ticket can win. It is not highest tickets wins. One wallet can take only one of the three places. The draw runs on a logged random seed, so any draw can be replayed and verified from the audit trail after the fact.
It takes three players to make a draw. Fewer than three in at midnight and nobody draws: the whole pot, and everyone's tickets, roll over intact to the next midnight.
The pot and the prizes
The pot is everything everyone fed that day, and it splits per material: 75% to first, 15% to second, 10% to third, with anything indivisible going to first. Prizes wait on the tree: claim them when you have bag room, partial claims are fine, and nothing you won is ever lost.
Bricks come back doubled
Bricks are the tree's favorite. Every brick fed comes back doubled in the pot: the extra bricks are freshly minted by the tree itself, the game's only brick faucet. It is bounded by design: at 32 tickets a brick, the 500 ticket cap admits at most 15 bricks per player per draw, and every minted brick is counted and audited. The masons say its roots reach the old kilns buried under the plaza and it bakes new bricks down there in its sleep. Nobody has dug to check.
Feeding pays XP
Your first 5 deposits each day pay 100 XP apiece, and "Feed the Magic Tree" rotates in as a daily quest. Even on a day you win nothing, feeding the tree is not nothing.
The honest note
It is a lottery. Most days, most players win nothing, and everything you feed is gone for good. Think of it as the way to empty a full bag with a story attached, and play it like one.
