# The Casino

**GLUE ADDICTION** is the town casino, and since August 2026 it is a real room: walk through the door on the square and the hall opens, twenty slot cabinets, four [poker](/gluebook/gluniverse-poker) tables, and Marla at the cage. Every spin is server run and audited, so the odds are exactly what they say.

## The machines

Three reels share one strip of **16 symbols**: sap, hide, scrap, bone, goo, and the **horse**. The rarer the symbol, the fewer stops it has on the strip, and the more it pays. Two kinds of cabinet, ten of each, run this exact same reel and paytable. They differ only in stakes:

- **GLUE ADDICTION**, the golden horse cabinet, bets **10, 50 or 250 gloo**.
- **GOLDEN HORSE ADDICTION**, the high roller cabinet, bets **1,000, 10,000 or 35,000 gloo**. Three horses on a 35,000 bet pays **8,750,000 gloo**, the biggest single win in the world.

## The paytable

**Three of a kind** pays your bet times:

**A pair** pays too: any ordinary pair hands your **bet back** (1x), and a pair of **horses** pays **3x**. Three horses is the jackpot at **250x**, the most either machine ever pays.

## Spinning pays XP

Every spin pays **15 XP**, win or lose. A winning spin adds a bonus: **4 XP per multiple of your bet paid**, capped at **1,000 XP**, so the 250x three horse trip lands exactly on the cap. With the daily spin cap, gambling XP is a bounded trickle, never a ladder.

## The odds are fixed and honest

There are exactly 4,096 possible spins and every one is equally likely, so the machine's return works out to exactly **92.38%**, a **7.62% house edge**. It is a slot machine: over enough spins the house wins, but the number is pinned in code and cannot drift.

## Where the money goes

A winning spin pays you on the spot. On a losing spin the house take splits in half: **half is burned**, gone from the world, and the rest funds the town treasury. The casino only ever touches gloo, never materials. You can spin up to **200 times a day**.

## The poker room
